This is a sliver of my experience living as a woman. And how I'm navigating the experience of being a victim of sexual violence.
People may try to ignore this and look away because it's not nice or pretty.
I want you to have a visceral response. I want you to see. I want to make you uncomfortable.
I want you to be confused and I want you to understand how it feels to experience this - to be hurt, publicly, to be humiliated and confronted with the reality of no one there and no one sees you and just how lonely it can be.
This was a piece I created in 2022 for exhibition.
This was an extremely personal piece of work to create, covering the topics of consent, sexual assault and harm commited to women.
